PHOTONICS is a series of international conferences organized biennially within India. The 7th conference organized by the International School of Photonics in collaboration with Centre of Excellence in Lasers and Optoelectronic Sciences and NeST Photonics was held during December 8-11, 2004. The focal theme of the International Conference was Opto-Electronics, Fiber Optics and Photonics. The conference consisted of tutorials, common plenary sessions, parallel sessions with invited talks, contributed presentations, poster sessions and Exhibitions. The conference provided a forum for interaction and exchange of ideas among participants from research institutions, universities, government organizations and industry.

A tutorial session in Fiber Optics, Bio Photonics and Nanotechnology was also conducted in connection with this event. People from all over the globe participated in the event.
